HOW TO PICK FRIENDS FOR LIFE

HOW TO PICK FRIENDS FOR LIFE

Look at your closest 10 friends. Rate them by what they do for a living, how much service they give to others, the correctness and cleanliness of their language, and their level of commitment to you personally as a great friend. Can you call them at midnight to help you, should your car break down, need gasoline, or have a flat tire? Would you consider their advice on questions you may have, or not? Would anyone but your mother wonder where you are if you didn’t come home at night? Marlene Dietrick stated: "It's the friends you can call up at 4am that matter."

Next, ask yourself, would your daughter be safe on a date with their son? Would your son treat their daughter with respect? Do your friends fight among themselves or are they educated enough to discuss calmly any differences? To have a friend your must be a friend. A true friend accepts you for who you are inside: your qualities, your life experience, your personality, your ability to care and love others outside yourself. For you to be a true friend you must have these same qualities.

What monetary level are they in? What educational level do they have? What have they achieved in the last 10-20 years? Do they give back from their abundance? Do they know you and accept you as their friend, too?

Here are a few quotes:
"A hug is worth a thousand words. A friend is worth more."
- Sent by Jasmine Fitzwilliam
"Friends are the most important ingredient in this recipe of life."
- Sent by Dior Yamasaki
"The better part of one's life consists of his friendships." Abraham Lincoln
"Sometimes you pick your friends, sometimes they pick you."
- Sent by Steve Klaka
"No love, no friendship, can cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark on it forever." - Francois Mocuriac

TURN ON YOUR POWER TO BE WELL - GUNG HO!

TURN ON YOUR POWER TO BE WELL - GUNG HO!

Our air has pollutants, our water has impurities, our soils for growing are depleted, and our world is full of corruption, crime, mutilation, and extinction. Where can we turn for peace and protection from desolation and destruction?

Wellness comes from our taking care of our bodies by providing home-grown foods, exercise in moderation, and clean, pure water. Our relationship with our Heavenly Father (our Highest Power) brings peace within our mind and body for good.

The Plan - Every two weeks plan your eating schedule into units and make a list of what foods you need to produce your meals. Next, check your home food supply and garden to determined what is still needed to complete your meals. Plan your –twice a month- visit to the food market. This will save you time and money. If you have a large freezer, you can also cook one-day-a-week and freeze your meals for later delivery. What a time saver!

Exercise - The above schedule and production will give you extra time for exercise, walking in the sunshine, or aerobics’ at home. Thirty minutes a day minimum will give you great health improvements. Adding weights (small pounds at first and work upward) will give you added muscle strength. Science has informed us that we loose muscle strength from age 40 onwards and to prevent this we must build our muscle strength through constant exercise achievements.

Water – I suggest Kangen High Ph water filtration. I can set-you up with information on how to order for your home or office.

Gardening – A raised square-foot garden is the easiest to keep free of weeds and easiest for rotation planting. Plant your back yard, you can even plant in your front or side yard. If you have no yard, at lease use pots, hanging planters, with water spray or mists on your porch or deck. Produce grown in properly mineralized soils will produce food that sustains your life.

Air - Use an air filter inside your home to clean your environment. I can provide you with details on the best air filter I have found through research.

Your Higher Power - It’s your life and we only get ‘one’. Take care of what you have before you loose it. Stay close to your spiritual life and bring peace and harmony to your home. Select friends, neighbors, and family to assist in your maintaining good health and peace. Pray often for self, family, and friends.

ENZYME STUDY AT ALLCHRISTIE MASSAGE SPA - IN SANDY UTAH

ENZYME STUDY AT ALLCHRISTIE MASSAGE SPA - IN SANDY UTAH

Enzymes are abundant in fresh fruits and vegetables. During the winter we should continue to eat meals with fresh salads and fruit compotes. Eating fruits between meals is a good practice for good health. Enzymes are needed for every chemical action, cellular activity, and reaction in the body. We need them for strengthening our immune systems and digesting proteins.

Without enzymes life cannot exist. They are the work force of the body. They increase oxygen levels. They raise your Ph, they unlock the nutrients from the foods we eat, and they participate in breaking down toxins and dissolving cholesterol. Enzymes assist in the absorption of vitamins and minerals. Our organs, tissues, bones, teeth, blood, nerves and cells are built by coordinating with enzymes. These enzymes produce electrical energy and protect your nervous system.

Our immune system, bloodstream, liver, kidneys, spleen, pancreas, as well as our ability to see, think, and breathe all depend upon enzymes. Enzymes are also one key to weight loss. Enzymes have specific functions determined by the arrangement of amino acids. Enzymes distribute your range of energy. You can tell when you wake up ready for the day or not.

At Allchristie Massage in Sandy Utah, we want your health to be at its highest level. We offer many massage modalities and the Migun Jade-heated bed for your increased health benefits.

Vitamin and mineral supplements will not make up for dietary deficiencies of enzymes. However taking a lipase enzyme pill will assist the body in digestion, the distribution and storage of fat, and the break down and dissolution of the fats that accumulate in the arteries, capillaries and your organs. Lipase is a winter solution to living without a garden of fresh foods.

The foods we eat must be completely digested and assimilated by our cells to give us the nutrients that our body needs to function with wellness. Should we have a high fever, become ill, eat over-cooked foods, or cook our foods 118 degrees or higher we destroy or deplete our enzymes. Drinking caffeinated beverages or alcohol, using tobacco or drugs put an immense burden on our enzymes and their production - Avoid these habits.

Here are a few ways to increase your enzymes. Sprouting grains and legumes; eating nuts and seeds; going on a fast for 24 hours; drinking ½ your body weight in ounces of water; ingesting 3 drops of oil of lemon daily; taking yogurt and acidophilus daily, and adding trace minerals with your daily multiple vitamins. Be sure to soak your sprouts at least 24 hours before eating. Using these ideas for assisting your body to produce enzymes at a higher level will reduce your health-care costs and give you a longer life full of health and joy. Are you ready to increase your quality of life?

EMERGENCY 72-HOUR KIT

A GOOD BOOKLET TO BUY WOULD BE THIS ONE:
Essentials of Home Production and Storage.
Item number: 32288000 The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
$1.50 USD

The usual problems I have found in talking with persons who claim to have their 72-hour kit prepared are these:
1) It is not all in one place. It would take a while to gather it all up.
2) There is no way I could carry the box or large can I have it stored in.
3) I am not planning to leave my house, so I have everything I need here.
4) I have some of it in my car, in the closet and in the garage; isn't that enough?
5) My water is stored in big barrels; I can't move them.
6) I did a kit several years ago, do I have to rotate it?
7) I tried recycling my kit and found that the food tastes bad, turned to sugar,
and it isn't eatable. My candy melted all over everything else.
8) The amount of items I will need are huge. How do I move them?
9) Where do I store them and how often do I recycle them?

So what is the answer?

Food and Water Rotate all foods every 6 months.

A three day supply of food and water, per person. No refrigeration or cooking.

• Canned: Tuna, Chicken, Beans, Turkey, Beef, Vienna Sausages

• Medication (Tylenol, Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen, children's medication)
• Prescription Medication (for 3-7 days and Rotated Monthly by YOU)
Personal Documents and Money
(Place these items in a water-proof container.)

Yes, It Is All Up To You! When that disaster happens, Will you be ready?
Will you rotate to keep everything eatable and safe, Will you have it ALL in one place (perhaps on wheels, so you can move it)? That Hand-Cart might come in handy here! Will you only include foods that you have already tried and WILL EAT? Finally, Have you planned with your family such things as -- How to find and contact, Where to meet, Who to include in your neighborhood watch, Where the bike is stored, What if someone is killed - Who takes over. It could be very serious and a fake pre-test should be done with your children and older family members. BE SAFE! Remember to pray!

OH, Remember to shut off the gas and electricity, should the house be destroyed. It will take the city about a week to comply and the government takes about 6 weeks in an earthquake, tornado, or hurricane diaster to set up. Do you have a tent?

MUSCLE TOPIC AT ALLCHRISTIE IN SANDY UTAH

MUSCLE TOPIC AT ALLCHRISTIE IN SANDY UTAH

There are over 600 muscles in the body. Without them you could not lift heavy objects, pump blood from your heart, or move the body without thinking about it. Even your skeleton needs muscles to move. Muscles are made from an elastic type of material similar to a big rubber band. Each muscle has tens of thousands of these small fibers. Some of your biggest and most powerful muscles are in your back, near your spine. These muscles help keep
you upright and standing straight and tall.
We call that good posture!

Muscles come as voluntary and involuntary muscles. They lay in layers, often one muscle will lay on top of another. Your brain tells all the muscles what to do, like a huge computer. To jump in the air the brain tells the body which muscles to contract or expand, make tighter or looser. Some muscles are called ‘smooth’ they often move involuntary. They are at work all through your body; your eyes to focus, your bladder, your stomach, your digestive system to swallow and to digest food, the uterus, to throw up when ill, to talk or sing and the list goes on.

The skeleton has to have muscles attached to it, stretching between or across bones or joints, to cause them to move. These skeletal muscles work with your bones to give your body power and strength. Some of these are not muscles but are tendons. Tendons are cord like tough tissue which connects between bones and muscles. You can see them in your fingers when they move.

A good appetite will allow the body to grow and develop. As a boy grows into a young man his voice changes, he becomes clumsy and runs into things for no reason except his body is growing so fast. And his hair starts growing everywhere. A good under arm deodorant is very useful from then on.

HEALTH NEWS FROM ALLCHRISTIE IN SANDY UTAH

HEALTH NEWS FROM ALLCHRISTIE IN SANDY UTAH
Part 4

Bran and Foods with Bran:
The News is filled with new ideas about bran. Bran is the outer layer or the husk of grain. It is a health promoting fiber. Its benefits include B vitamins, protein, iron and fiber, of course.

Everyone knows that bran is good for you; that it helps keep you regular; that it is good for the digestion; that it is an insoluble dietary fiber and breaks down slower. Per today’s Nutritionists - Consuming bran will have tremendous benefits for the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, as a pro-biotic food, in reducing or combating heart disease, and perhaps in controlling weight. The effects of a bowel cleansing and a reduction of toxins and impurities in the body have given bran a good name. The only bad publicity of bran is too much of it causes gas and bloating.

Oat bran is excellent for your heart. It helps lower blood cholesterol levels and helps reduce the need for insulin in Diabetics. It becomes sticky and makes a thick gel when combined with water. My favorite use of oat bran is in oatmeal or chocolate chip cookies. No one can tell, even in bread.

Wheat Bran is one of the richest sources of dietary fiber it is the indigestible outer husk of wheat and is found in other cereal grains. You find wheat bran in breakfast cereals, baked-goods, breakfast bars and granola. You can add it to pancakes, cookies, muffins, and even shakes. After consuming wheat bran you will have a feeling of fullness. Many dieters use this hint. Wheat bran is added to many recipes and can be found at your regular grocery store. Wheat can also be sprouted for Vitamin C.

Rice Bran is the newest weapons in the arsenal against high cholesterol, poor digestion, poor nutrition and other age-related problems. When rice is milled the outer layer is removed, this is the bran. There is also rice oil that is consumable. We live close to a Chinese Grocer and find many Eastern health products available there. Check for a store in your neighborhood.

For the best secret results and the longest healthy life, please begin to use bran, lots of fresh herbs, home-grown vegetables and fruits, and bake or broil your meats. In the summertime try to eat out of your garden, and get lots of fresh air by going on walks. Stop and smell the roses. Find a hobby or something that you enjoy doing OUTDOORS and get a little sunshine with Vitamin D. Take your family along or a friend. Remember to use a sun screen topically and do not burn. If you live in a colder climate remember to wear layers with long sleeves that can be wrapped around your waist when no longer needed.

Caper’ Diem = Seize the day and live long!

HEALTH NEWS FROM ALLCHRISTIE IN SANDY UTAH

HEALTH NEWS FROM ALLCHRISTIE IN SANDY UTAH
Part 3

HAIR - A beautiful, shinny head of thick hair is the beauty of the women advertising in magazines. They tell you that a bad hair day is bad for your self-esteem, causes you to feel insecure, or you think everyone is looking at your hair - whether clean, dirty, stringy, or those balding spots. As they sell this or that product from their mega-stores to convince you their product is the very best one of all for your hair, let me give you some of my Mother's advice.

On a day when you can just concentrate on you, here are some great ways to make you look and feel great! Take a bath and wash your hair. It is best to use a clarifying shampoo - one that will strip your hair of all the oils weighing it down. Allow the shampoo to stay in your hair for 5-7 minutes before rinsing out.

Then mix together this recipe: One cup of mayonnaise, one or two eggs well beaten and one tablespoon of vanilla. The vanilla cuts the odor of mayo. Mix well.

Apply the mayo mixture to wet hair. Get from the top of your head all the way down to the ends, which may need attention. Run a wide tooth comb through your hair to be sure the mayo mixture is evenly applied. Now, cover your head with a shower cap and then wrap it with a small towel to secure it. Let this sit on your hair for about one-half hour. I hear you asking, Why? This will lock in the heat rising from your scalp and allow the mayo mixture to heal the hair shaft.

While you are waiting, I'm thinking you are out of the shower while you are applying the mayo mixture. Read a book, do your nails or toenails, and sit with your feet up. OK, you might also pluck your eyebrows or facial hairs. You have time!

When the timer dings, wash your hair again to remove the mayo mixture and dry it. Check it for shine. Admire yourself! You should look like the pictures in the magazines.

I remember when I was young that Mom bought me a special hair brush. In those days we brushed our hair 50-100 times before bedtime. Yes, this included turning our head toward the floor and brushing it underneath, too. This brush, however, was to be used after the brushing in the morning. It had a contained place, like a squirt gun, to hold oil. It also had some tiny little holes that allowed a drop of oil to come out when you were brushing your hair. This brought a shine to your hair that was brilliant. I remember the men used VO-5 to run through their hair to give their hair a shine.

THE WALK-ABOUT CLUB IS AT ALLCHRISTIE IN SANDY, UTAH

THE WALK-ABOUT CLUB IS AT ALLCHRISTIE IN SANDY UTAH

The Walk-About Club in Sandy, Utah was opened for Allchristie clients who want to keep their bodies limber and healthy. Doctors have all given proof that walking is healthy. If fact, Doctors state that just one-half hour of walking daily, or more, is extremely more beneficial than sitting on the couch and watching the dreaded T.V.

Most health care professionals advise to walk briskly. An example would be walking a mile in 12 to 20 minutes or jogging a four to 10 minute mile. Of course, you wouldn’t start out with these high numbers. If you haven’t walked for years, it might be a 45 minute mile. The fact is that you must get your exercise to stay healthy. The Walk-About Club at Allchristie in Sandy, Utah is ready to sign you into your choice of time slots. You may pick early morning or lighted evening – before dark.

This walking activity raises the pulse rate and gives the heart muscle an exercise to keep it strong or to assist the heart in adding muscle strength to it – building it up or building it back up. A strong heart muscle will allow the body to stay active. A sluggish body will be tired, inactive and have no energy.

Have you ever gotten up in the morning and said to your self, “I’m so tired”? Or have you discussed with others the fact that you have no energy? That you used to have lots of energy? These feelings are not signs of aging. Many older persons tell of how their energy is great and they can do more now than when they were 30 years old. Once you start your walking program at The Walk-About Club at Allchristie in Sandy, Utah you will feel more energy. Your lungs will breathe deeper too.

Building your activity level, then maintaining that level will give you back energy. Eventually you will walk two miles or maybe even five. Walking on the streets will cause you to stop at every stop sign or stop light. I recommend finding a park where you can continue the walking pace without pausing for traffic.

Allchristie has looked for and found a school tract and an area in the park that can be used for sustained walking. Most tracks are a quarter mile, some are longer. You can check your walking distance with a pedometer.

I encourage you to call Allchristie and sign up for the Walk-About Club. The hardest part is in the beginning on day one. It doesn’t matter if you are thin, heavy, short or tall. We all benefit from exercise and walking is a big part of the exercise program. Walking in a group is safer than walking alone. We encourage each other and there is safety in numbers.

Pick up that phone and dial 801 565-8515 to sign up for one of the walking hours. I’ll see you real soon at The Walk-About Club at Allchristie in Sandy, Utah!

Part Two -

For those of you who are experiencing body pain and inflammation, I have put together some answers for you.
Visit the Allchristie Massage in Sandy, Utah.

Relaxing Baths – at home

Epson salts, Dead Sea salts, and other bath salts can be found in spas, health food stores and country markets. A deep bath soak for 30 minutes will relax your body and release toxins that have gathered on the skin and in surface muscles. After the soak, briskly dry off and if possible, get into bed for the night to relax.

Omega-3 Essential Fatty Acids

The right types of fats in your diet will impact pain and inflammation in a positive way. Omega-3 essential fatty acids are very powerful anti-inflammatory agents. They are found in walnuts, pumpkin seeds, cold-water oily fish, flax seeds, and canola oil. Adding these omega-3 fatty acid supplements from flax oil or fish oil may also help reduce inflammation.

Olive Oil for Cooking

Olive oil is another type of oil that will reduce inflammation. In fact, olive oil has been shown to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and help to reduce artery blockage. Other healthy oils include rice bran oil, grape seed oil, and walnut oil.

Anti-inflammatory Diet Tips

Choose fresh foods instead of heavily processed foods when you are choosing anti-inflammatory foods, to help reduce your inflammation and pain.
Follow these tips:
•Breakfast oatmeal can be served with fresh berries and walnuts, with a cup of milk.
•Snack on whole fruits, nuts, seeds, and fresh vegetables throughout the day instead of Sweets, like cookies, cake, and candies.
•Eat fish two or three times per week and eat less fatty red meat.
•Bake or stir fry your meals. Always add fresh vegetables and fruits.
•Choose green, orange, and yellow vegetables for your side dishes. Eat ½ cup plus.
•Drink plenty of water, herbal teas and green tea. Juice fruits and vegetables.

Use a nutrition and calorie guide for men and women to help determine how many calories you need each day. Maintaining a healthy weight is another way to live a healthier life and reduce pain from inflammation. All change comes slow and steady. Don’t give up!

Another hint is to chart your height and weight and compare it to the average for your range and see where you need to make changes, if any. I found a good site for this at: http://www.healthchecksystems.com/heightweightchart.htm

I hope these ideas have been helpful to you in staying healthy and reducing pain and inflammation. For a great massage call Allchristie Massage in Sandy, Utah. 1 801 565-8515

Massage - Health News from Allchristie Massage in Sandy, Utah
Part One -

For those of you who are experiencing body pain and inflammation, I have put together some answers for you.
Visit the Allchristie Massage in Sandy, Utah.

Protein
Your body needs protein to build healthy body tissue and it needs calcium for bones. Good protein sources include lean beef, poultry, fish, seafood, nuts, legumes and seeds. Red meats may trigger inflammation, so cut back on fatty red meats. When you do eat red meat, choose lean cuts of elk, venison, bison, moose, rabbit and other game meats. Soybeans, tofu, and soy milk are three great sources of soy proteins that may help to reduce your pain and inflammation. You may have to grow a taste for these cultured foods. Milk is one source of calcium.

Carbohydrates and Fiber
Most of your carbohydrates should come from whole grains, vegetables and fruits. The bread, cereal and pasta in your diet should be 100% whole-grain products. Whole grains are excellent sources of fiber, and a high-fiber diet will reduce your inflammation, giving you fiber for good bowel movements. Home make breads can add many grains to increase the bodies health. Add a little to the crust, too.
Choose green leafy vegetables, green and brightly colored vegetables, and lots of fresh whole fruits. You should eat at least five (and preferably more) servings of fruits and vegetables each day. Green vegetables and whole fruits are also important as sources of dietary fiber.

Berries are also a great food choice, especially blueberries, boysenberries, strawberries, and pomegranates, which are packed with anti-inflammatory phyto-chemicals and antioxidants. The pigments in brightly colored fruits, vegetables and berries contain many phyto-chemicals that have anti-inflammatory properties. Asthma is one illness that needs berries to heal the lungs. One example of phyto-chemicals is quercetin, which is found in apple and red onion skins and has strong anti-inflammatory properties. Another way to get fiber is by eating Metamucil cookies of Fiber-one cookie snacks. There are also several drinks that claim benefits. I use the Jack-La Layne juicer. There is also the Montel Williams juicer available.

Water and Healthy Beverages
Your body needs water every day, at least 8 glasses. High PH water is the very best as it raises the level in your body to the 7.0 – 7.4 level of neutral. Water is also found in foods and beverages. The simplest and maybe best form of water is fresh drinking water. Other good fluid sources include 100% fruit juices, herbal teas, vegetable juices and low-fat milk. About 20% of the water you need every day will come from the foods you eat. Take your weight, divide it in half and drink as close to that much water or at lease ½ gallon of water everyday.
The Allchristie Massage Spa has Kangen water to refresh you before and after your massage.

Massage for Bodily Health
I recommend having a good session of massage at least once a month. It will release muscle tensions, move fluids and toxins, and give you the overall release of pain. At the end of the massage you should feel lighter with a lift in spirits – almost like you are floating.
You will enjoy your massage at the Allchristie Massage in Sandy, Utah.
